Who They Are
The Milwaukee Center for Independence has been a leading provider of life-changing programs and services for children and adults with disabilities, special needs and barriers to success since 1938. Since 1938, MCFI has been delivering innovative care to help people with special needs achieve a higher level of self-sufficiency and their full potential. MCFI was initially founded as Jewish Vocational Services to help World War II refugees assimilate to a new life in America by assisting them with housing, education, language skills and jobs. Over time, the organization’s focus grew to serve people with disabilities and other disadvantages.
